Impact of WISE Cities
The Saved Pages feature in WISE Cities was designed to provide older adults with a dedicated space to easily access their bookmarked, favorited, and saved content without frustration. The challenge was to create a solution that was not only functional and visually organized but also intuitive for users with varying levels of digital literacy. To address this, the design process focused on implementing a clear visual organization system using accessibility principles that align with how older adults naturally interact with digital platforms.

Wrap-up
Research
As the UX lead for the Saved Pages redesign in WISE Cities, I conducted extensive research and brainstorming to create an intuitive system tailored for older adults. This process laid the foundation for an optimized Saved Pages experience that ensures older adults can easily find, manage, and navigate their saved content without confusion.
-
Researched saved pages across various platforms, including retail, social media, and service-based websites.
-
Identified strengths and shortcomings of these platforms, focusing on what worked well for WISE Cities' target users—older adults.
-
Analyzed key organizational features, such as:
-
Filters for easy content sorting.
-
Tabs & category widgets for structured navigation.
-
Search bars for quick access.
-
Collapsible containers to reduce clutter.
-

Design
Quick Iterations
Multiple design iterations were explored, testing various organizational structures to optimize usability. After refining the options, the most effective designs were presented to the team for feedback and final selection.

The tabs and chip filter design was unanimously chosen for its clean, cohesive layout that seamlessly communicated functionality while maintaining a visually intuitive experience.

Minor Tweaks
To ensure consistency and prevent confusion, the tab structure was updated to match the categories on the home page, expanding from three to eight tabs for a more seamless experience.
Additionally, I introduced a "New Update" badge feature in the saved content section. This enhancement, which was not part of the original plan, helps users stay informed about updates, changes, or announcements related to their saved content, prompting them to review important updates effortlessly.
